Welcome back to school!! My kiddos came back ready to get started with our FUNctional Fridays! Typically, I like to start out our year teaching kitchen safety and expectations. You can browse my storefront for that lesson too! This year, we are starting with something fun and simple: strawberry shortcakes! This bundle includes a recipe that can be displayed on a projector or smartboard, student response sheets, and a functional math extension. I hope your kiddos enjoy this as much as mine!! --

This bundle includes several vocabulary pages and independent work, as well as interactive notebook pages, assessments, and a sample lesson plan. Please limit one download per user. I hope you enjoy!
I don't know about you, but my class definitely had a craving for a luscious cupcake after reading "Thunder Cake" by Patricia Polacco this week. Since we are nearing storm season here in TN, we decided to make our own miniature version of this treat in our culinary lesson. I present to you: low-effort (at school at least) Thunder (cup)Cakes! I planned for this lesson to include some fine motor skills and added the option to spread frosting or using a piping bag to make the cupcakes more decorati
For those of you who know a little bit about me, I teach self-contained accessible education grades K-8th! We have been fortunate enough to have had a student teacher learning in our room for the last 8 weeks. If you've taught learners like mine or littles, you know that big changes are scary and tough to get through. I made a quick social story for my group to help us adjust to the change of losing a new friend, but trying to help them understand that this is a goodbye for a good reason. <
