This is a project for students studying ecosystems, interdependency, food webs, human effects on ecosystems, and the carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle. The project is designed to be done at home and includes an introduction letter, a student checklist, and a grading rubric. You could also adapt this project to be done in the classroom.
This short project outline is meant to be used by the students as they work in pairs or groups to do research about six different types of simple machines. Once the students' research is finished, the teacher can have them present their findings, assign one type of simple machine for each group to present, or even have the students rotate through centers where they can have experiences building/using these simple machines.
