About the store
I have taught math at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Currently, I teach Algebra 1 ,PAP Geometry/Algebra 2, and dual Credit Algebra and Statistics at the high school level. I have also taught both math and ELA at the middle school levels, and was the only teacher for 7th and 8th grade Newcomer ESL students in our district for 11 years.

Math Problem-Solving Strategies and Vocab Connections: ESL, SPED and General Ed
Teachers of Beginning and Intermediate level language learners will be able to help their students make connections between words in math problems and the arithmetic operations needed to solve those problems. The activities in this packet also encourage students to think "reasonably". Does the answer make sense? After teaching my eighth grade Newcomer ELLs these reasoning strategies, I've been able to extend their thinking to more difficult concepts, such as finding sides of right triangles.

Experience

Teaching style
My teaching style is somewhere between Demonstrator and Facilitator, depending on the situation. I love to design my own activities, because I like to give my students a variety of ways to approach problem solving and practicing problem solving.
