I have 23 years of educational experience teaching in public and private middle/high schools in North Carolina and Puerto Rico, tutoring students in high school mathematics and homeschooling my own four children. While most of my professional experience is in math, some of my materials were created for homeschool groups or my own children so you'll find some variety in my resources. My kids are working on their bilingualism and I spend a lot of time creating games we can use in our Spanish club so I post some of those resources as well!
After years of teaching middle and high school I have come to the realization that all students cheat. Some cheat occasionally, some frequently, some intentionally and some accidentally. With technology and cooperative learning, sometimes the line between cheating and acceptable collaboration gets blurred. It is our job as teachers to define cheating in general and on specific assignments. Attached you will find a list of 25 questions related to cheating in the classroom and at home.
If you hate letting kids out of class but need to let them go occasionally for missing homework or a bathroom break, this Emergency Hall Pass is for you! Give students 2 opportunities to leave class for an emergency situation.
Updated 9/1/12: As per a teacher's suggestion, I have updated this product to include a second page with a "Signature" line. You can use the first page and initial over the pass number, or the second page and sign on a dedicated signature line.
Homework is important so don't let your students skip any assignment. Give to students as a reward/prize so they may turn in any homework assignment one day late without punishment.
Use this one-page form to gather basic information on your students and their parents. Includes place for cell number, birthday, and school schedule.

Teaching style
My teaching approach to math is that you need some hands-on activities to keep them interested, some repetition to keep it in their memory, a lot of patience to keep yourself sane, and a lot of energy to keep up with them.
