I have taught 2nd grade for 7 years. I was then moved into a K-2 interventionist position for 2 years. Lastly, I have been a 5th grade Science teacher for 10 years.

I am a very practical and hands on teacher. I try to incorporate multiple learning styles within my lessons. I am big on using stations and small groups to reinforce learning. Google Classroom has been a very useful platform to differentiate student learning and allow student's to guide their own learning. One of my strong points is breaking the content down to where all students master it. I have been able transfer this skill into creating Interactive mini lessons, questioning, labs, and journaling.

I have been on my school's Teacher Leadership team for 4 years. I also was chosen as an interventionalist teacher to help those students struggling. I was previously chosen by my assistant superintendent to be videotaped to help with professional development.

God has given me a heart for the inner-city child. I long to see them successful and have adapted lessons and ideas to better help them. I love teaching and seeing children learn. I have been married just over a year to my best friend. I am excited to learn new things and share my ideas with you!!!
