Study modes on guitar in the most fun way possible. Instead of reading about music theory in a book, this allows someone to play and listen to music theory. This has a tremendous amount of replay value since memorizing mode names takes some time. Features mode names, letters in note heads, and special notes in the mode in purple.

This is a study/etude that allows someone to learn and memorize modes through practical playing, instead of simply reading about them in a boring and abstract book. Features tab with rhythm, naming mode names, and letter names inside of note heads. Seeing modes as +1 or -1 what the key signature should be, is a really elegant way of understanding the modes that I don't hear anyone talking about. That system really shines well when the original key signature has a lot of #'s or b's to begin with

A guitar study that teaches a composition technique for changing keys called secondary dominance. It means to use the perfect chord that points strongly to another chord. Instead of simply reading about this, I think it's an interesting idea to play it. Features:1. Roman numeral analysis over secondary dominance chords 2. Letter names inside of noteheads (that's why there is strange time signature). The preview doesn't do this justice, but they are there. 3. Chord diagrams

18 question test about the circle of fifths in music. If you want to turn music into a more traditional worksheet learning style, where grading and holding the student accountable for completing a worksheet, then this is for you. I know that one of the greatest challenges is holding students accountable for practicing. Worksheets like this hold students accountable because they either did the worksheet or they didn't, instead of vague assignments, "Get better at the song this week," which most p

If so, then these exercises are for you. lIterating over the same chord type for memorization reasons. I deeply wanted to be a good rhythm guitarist, so I studied how to play these in as many ways as I could. They look unassuming and simple but there are many ways to work on it. Just trying to explain that there is a decade worth of work here: 1. Ch

Elegantly explains modes in a beginner friendly way. Just like many musicians should have the circle of fifths handy for their entire career, this sheet is similarly important for reference. Tips:1. Special notes are marked in a magenta color, bold and asterisk* 2. Thinking about modes as 1 accidental away from what it was "supposed to be" when compared to a regular major or minor scale is a very simple way to know how modes work in every key. 3. Covers 5 chord types for guitar in a very pedagogical sound way instead of randomly like most of the internet. This PDF is designed to bridge the gap between practical guitar chords and understanding theory. Most guitarists dislike theory because the theory book wasn't written for their instrument, and because there are no chord diagrams resulting in slow learning. It does an excellent job at slowly making the chords larger to slowly increase in difficulty, culminating in large barre chords. I

Aids in understanding different types of endings in music for guitar. Great for understanding how to control the audiences expectations on when to applaud and not to applaud. Save perfect endings for the very last ending as the audience will instinctively know it is over (period in sentence writing). Save deceptive or imperfect endings for when you want to propel the music forward into a new section (comma in sentence writing).

About the store

Experience

Guitar teacher for over a decade. Teaches at public and private schools.

Teaching style

Useful for those who have little or lots of experience. Sheet music takes years (if not a lifetime) to master, so I tend to always include intuitive representations of everything. That way, if you can't read sheet music well, you can still use it, so it is scaffolded sheet music learning. Great for an impatient student who is in a hurry and wants to enjoy the best parts, but then it's also useful to hang on a wall and study for years.

My own education history
