Build fluency with these nonsense/make believe word flashcards. Nonsense word fluency measures a student's ability to decode individual phonemes and then blend them together to read. They're an indicator of a student's progress in acquiring early alphabetic principle skills. Using nonsense words in phonics instruction can increase a student's ability to read words with accuracy and automaticity.
This product includes all the high frequency words, as well as some extras from units 4-6 that are covered in ReadyGen 2016.
I use these for individual student assessments.I highlight each time I assess them in a different color. For example, at the beginning of the school year I will highlight all words the student can read in yellow. At the end of the unit I will reassess and highlight all words they know in blue, including words from the previous unit. This way you have a running assessment
