This graphic organizer is great to use with students who are learning the elements of a story (characters, setting, plot). This can be used in whole group for a shared read, in partners for Read to Someone, or individually for Read to Self. Perfect for holding kids accountable for what they are reading independently!
This goes along with Reading Street's 1st grade basal story, The Lady in the Moon (Unit 4, Story 4). It provides students with a quick review of the story, its phonics focus, and sight words each day. Teachers can use as a way to support students who need a little extra help or as a daily reinforcement for what is learned at school.

Teaching style
I love anything hands-on that gets kid up and moving. We have motions to remember everything in my class! I also teach a lot of small groups to differentiate the material and meet kids where they are. My goal is for each student to have at least a year's growth.
