I have taught mostly at schools with low SES and high second language learners, in classrooms with low classroom ratios of 20:1 with some paras as well as large classes as much as 33:1 with no para. Handwriting Rubric
This product is used to grade students handwriting. There is a large format that can be attached to the work or sent home if the work being graded is in a journal. Additionally there is a smaller format the can be used once parents and students get used to what each section is and what the expectations are. There is a 4 point rubric to be used with younger students or at the beginning of the year, and a three point rubric that can be used with older students or towards the end of the year. I hop

Teaching style
I use a combination of methods from whole group instruction to cooperative learning and small group targeted instruction with differentiated skill focuses. I also implement as much technology as I have available, using my Smart Board to make my lesson as interactive as possible getting students up and moving. I love to use Kagan structures to keep cooperative learning focused and fun.

I have earned Scholastic achievement awards for three years. I have also earn Teacher of the year.

I have an Associate of Arts in Child Development; Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education; and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Additional biographical information
I am a single parent of two fantastic children. Have an adult son on his own and a daughter still at home. I enjoy reading and arts and crafts in my spare time (not that teachers have much of that these days).
