Get your students to make real-life connections in math by planning a party. Students will have the opportunity to plan a party. They will be given a budget and have to purchase certain items as well as any additional items they want. They must stay within their budget and log all their expenses. This is a great opportunity for students to use their financial literacy skills.

Have your class design a coffee cup for media literacy. Students can design a cup with the planner and write about who their target audience is for the cup. As well as what the purpose was for their cup (e.g., save the planet, donate to charity)
