š A Little More About Me
In addition to my education and professional experience, my work is deeply shaped by my role as a parent. My child has been diagnosed with ADHD and separation anxiety, and through this journey, Iāve supported him through intense emotional moments at home, during transitions, and especially during school drop-offs.
We experienced frequent crises that included big emotions, refusal, distress, and difficulty separatingāmoments that were challenging both emotionally and logistically. Through these experiences, I learned firsthand that traditional verbal reassurance alone often wasnāt enough. What made the biggest difference was using visual supports, predictability, and clear routines to help him understand what was happening and what came next.
I used tools such as:
Visual schedules
Coping skills choice boards
Emotional check-ins
FirstāThen supports
Simple, consistent language
These strategies helped reduce anxiety, support emotional regulation, and rebuild a sense of safetyāboth at home and at school. Over time, I saw meaningful progress, not because the feelings disappeared, but because my child gained skills to manage them.
This lived experience is why I am so passionate about visual supports. I donāt just believe in them academically or professionallyāIāve seen them work in real life, during real crises, with my own child.
Every resource I create is rooted in that understanding: tools that are clear, compassionate, and practical, designed to support children through big feelings and help adults respond with confidence and consistency.
