About the store
Hi, I’m Danielle—founder of Bright Flight and a lifelong early childhood educator. I’m so glad you’re here. For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and learning alongside our youngest learners. My journey began in a special education preschool classroom, where I worked closely with children facing a wide range of developmental challenges—from limited expressive language and social-emotional delays to autism and other high-support needs. Every child I’ve met has shaped the way I teach. I believe deeply in meeting each child exactly where they are, with a balance of structure, warmth, patience, and play. Whether supporting non-verbal communicators or helping typically developing preschoolers thrive in inclusive settings, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when all children are welcomed, valued, and given the tools to grow. In recent years, I’ve stepped into a leadership role as a mentor to new teachers in my district—sharing practical strategies, championing developmentally appropriate practice, and helping build classrooms rooted in compassion and structure. Bright Flight is a natural extension of that work. It’s where I pour my heart, experience, and real-world teaching wisdom into classroom-ready resources designed especially for preschool learners—including those with unique developmental needs and typically developing peers. Whether you're a fellow educator, a parent, or a caregiver, I’m so grateful you're here. Thank you for the love and energy you give to the little ones in your life. I hope Bright Flight makes your days lighter, your classroom stronger, and your learners feel seen. Let’s grow together.

Teaching style

My teaching style is a blended approach that combines elements of TEACCH, ABA, play-based learning, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and other effective methods tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. I believe that structure and predictability provide a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore and grow. Visual supports like schedules and choice boards help enhance communication and foster independence. Literacy plays a central role in my classroom, where I use high-quality picture books adapted specifically to support language development for all learners. I place a strong emphasis on social-emotional development and self-regulation, helping children learn to understand and manage their feelings while building meaningful relationships. Learning to play—both independently and with peers—is essential, as play is the foundation for creativity, communication, and social skills. Overall, my style is patient, compassionate, structured, and fun. I strive to create an inclusive, organized, and joyful space where every child’s strengths are celebrated, and learning feels natural and engaging.
