About the store
With over three decades as a professional educator, and my time as a practicing Physicist, I have used my training in how to teach along with my understanding of how students learn together with deep insights into Physics principles, to develop a unified and coherent structure for any Physics teacher to improve their own pedagogy, and ultimately to inspire their own students to use the tools of Physics as an expert. My products are meant to help any Physics teacher, new or experienced, to develop a deeper and more consistent understanding of Physics concepts that allows teachers to organically develop with confidence their own material and delivery methods and to present this material to students in a coherent and understandable way. It is meant for science or math teachers who have had physics years ago and have been tapped to now teach Physics. It is meant for retired engineers who are starting a second career in Physics teaching. It is meant for a teachers who have been teaching conceptual physics for a long time and now have to teach AP or IB Physics. My products are not simply the notes, quizzes, labs, and test that I used with my students. That you can get from most any store. My products are specifically designed and meant for teachers to improve their own understanding of Physics and improve their pedagogy. The notes and problems provided can easily be modified to make them your own to then use with your students as you see fit. Professional Experience: Academic: Three decades of professional teaching experience in AP, IB, Magnet high schools Research: Bell Labortories, Bell Communications Research, Uppsala Universitet Teacher Training: Hosted many students from GW University GWTeach Program for Physics teacher training Writing: Physics Content Writer for Glencoe Physics, Khan Academy, QBS Learning, Metritech

Teaching style

Early on I became a believer in what was called Expert Learning - where students are taught and process material as an expert in the field would. I have condensed algebraic based Physics down to four universally applicable procedures - one each for kinematics, forces, momentum, and energy - that can be used to solve any Physics problem that could be posed. Given this system, I became their Physics coach in this environment, not unlike a coach for a sport. Once the procedure is presented, the students practice together in small groups. They learn with and from each other what works and why, what does not work, and why. Understanding comes from repetition of the procedure - instead of developing muscle memory, students develop their Physics memory.

Additional biographical information

An earned Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics, along with years as a reseacher, gives me a deep understading of Physics principles and its intersections with other sciences and technology. With three decades as a professional educator, I have used my training in how to teach along with my understanding of how students learn and my insights into Physics principles, to develop a unified and coherent structure for any Physics teacher to improve their pedagogy, and for students to use the tools of Physics as an expert.
