About the store
I have been teaching for 12+ years. Mostly, I have taught the highest levels of English literature classes for high school students. However, when my own daughter struggled to learn to read, I refocused my career and began learning about the 5 pillars of structured literacy and became reading certified for my state. After tutoring elementary-aged students for several years, I am back teaching high schoolers these same foundational skills in basic reading and writing courses. There is no better joy than teaching a child of any age how to read!

Teaching style

Structured literacy and building knowledge are two of the primary goals in everything I create. As a high school teacher, I have seen the pain of students who can barely read or not read on grade level or not have enough background knowledge of the world around us. I hope to provide parents a way to supplement their child's learning at school in meaningful ways that have a direct impact on the child's development.
