I am a big advocate for number sense. I try to include any activity that I can to enhance the students' number sense. This activity can be used as a center that students can do independently while you work with small groups. This activity could also be done as a scoot game by passing the cards around the room. You can easily laminate and solve.

Experience
I have been an elementary teacher since 1992. (I will let you do the math). I have taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades in a rural community.
Teaching style
I am NOT a worksheet teacher. The best lessons I ever have are "fly by the seat of my pants." I love have a lesson develop in the moment based on student responses or interests. With that said, I am structured. The students know what to expect, and I lead them to become as independent as possible. I love seeing my students laughing, enjoying the day, and having those light bulb moments.
Awards & shining teacher moments
2020-2021 Teacher of the Year for my school.
Having an 8 year old student, who had never been to school, meet the literacy benchmarks by the end of the year.
Having fun with our faculty. We play games (hide and seek, tag, rock, paper scissors war, and any other game I can make work) all year. I work with a very competitive faculty.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am certified as a Math Specialist.
Additional biographical information
I have two sons, that are my world. One just graduated from college and the other is in his final year of college. Everything I do, I do for them.
