About the store
High interest lessons and activities across all subjects designed to make your life easier and your student's learning more fun, and more importantly, more effective! I have resources from fully explained science experiments, to engaging handwriting activities where students write about actually interesting topics, to PECs cards that use real photos instead of those weird hairless stick figures.... if you need it, you might find it here! Brontosaurus Learning is a rebranding of my previous store, Monster Sciences, as it now includes so much more than just science. The Monster Sciences resources are still here, same great content, just updated and redesigned. I have taught from Kindergarten to High School, including several years as a Gifted and Talented specialist teacher, and many years as a Learning Support/Inclusive Education teacher. Prior to my career in education, I worked for more than a decade as a scientist. I love teaching because I love the variety of all subject areas - I love to teach math as much as art. More than anything, though, I love to teach all kids to think and reason, and my goal is always to unlock and encourage their curiosity, because that is how we help them to become life long learners.

Teaching style

When I first started teaching I was shocked and amazed by how few teachers taught science because I knew that hands-on science experiments were a great way to engage even the most reluctant learner to want to learn more. So I set about finding out why science wasn't being taught - I interviewed hundreds of teachers from a wide variety of schools and discovered that there were some common answers: "we don't have any science equipment" and "I don't understand science myself so how can I teach it?". I developed Monster Sciences to address these concerns - they use simple, every day objects you can find in your classroom or home and they are fully and simply explained so everyone can follow what is happening. My experiments have all been tried and tested in my classroom and I know that once you give them a try you, and your students, will love them! Since then I have seen the need for many other types of resources, including high interest handwriting activities, fun and engaging literacy and maths activities and special education resources. As the focus of my store changed from science only to include these other areas, I rebranded my site to Brontosaurus Learning. Same great experiments and resources, just updated and rebranded!

My own education history

I have degrees in both Applied Science and Education, and have studied extensively across all aspects of education since then - I'm on my own life long learning journey!

Additional biographical information

I have 2 wonderful daughters who love helping me with my experiments and are always the first ones to try them out and give them their first review - if they don't like them, they don't make the cut!
