This Reading Log is great to send home for daily Homework Reading. It holds the students accountable for fiction vs. nonfiction, recalling favorite events in the story, story elements (characters and setting), author's purpose, and making predictions. There is also a place for the time spent reading and for the parents' signature. This Reading Log has been very effective in my classroom, and while the students are accountable, they're not spending too much time writing down too much informati
This is a great way to assess your students' knowledge and application of fables. You may choose to complete one after each fable, or allow them to choose their favorite fable and complete the graphic organizer.
Use this as a whole group lesson, Guided Reading lesson, or as a literacy center idea. You could also use it as a graphic organizer to prepare them for writing their very own fable! Enjoy!
These are great for formal or informal assessments for your students, as well as a great tool for class literature discussions! These reading logs also hold your students accountable for the skills learned in class as well as independent reading. :O) Enjoy!
Included in this packet are Spelling Menus for August through May. Each are seasoned-themed, and are aligned with Second Grade CCSS. They are integrated across the curriculum including math activities for each month!
These can be used as monthly homework (I stick them in my homework folders each month, and the students choose one activity per night.), or as a literacy center activity.
I hope you enjoy these as much as my kids (and my grade level!) do!! Please feel free to include other word

I sent this home during our Measurement Review at the end of the year. It could also be used during class time or for differentiation. I hope you enjoy!
Included in the review are the following skills:
~Counting coin collections
~Showing values of money in two different ways
~Telling time (analog and digital clocks)
~AM and PM

Use this as your Weekly Homework Reading Log to hold your students accountable for more things than just reading!! The students have to idenfity what type of literature (fiction or non-fiction) as well as types of speech (contraction, noun, verb, adjective). I use this often as a Formative Assessment to see what my kids are reading and if they're able to identify parts of speech.
Use this story map as a guide to hold your students reponsible for their learning, and being able to apply their knowledge of author's purpose. You could use this as a learning center, collaborative work, or as an assessment.
