About the store
I’ve spent over a decade teaching high school science—primarily Chemistry with some Aquatic Science sprinkled in there at the end—and served as a technology coach for teachers. I love designing creative, classroom-tested lessons and reference materials that make challenging science concepts click. I currently work with the Texas Aerospace Scholars program, where I help students engage with NASA’s missions and see how what they’re learning connects to real-world exploration and innovation.

About the store

Experience

I’ve spent over a decade teaching high school science—primarily Chemistry with some Aquatic Science sprinkled in there at the end—and served as a technology coach for teachers. I love designing creative, classroom-tested lessons and reference materials that make challenging science concepts click. I currently work with the Texas Aerospace Scholars program, where I help students engage with NASA’s missions and see how what they’re learning connects to real-world exploration and innovation.

Teaching style

My teaching style is hands-on, inquiry-driven, and grounded in real-world connections. I love creating materials that help students see and make sense of the science behind everyday phenomena—whether it’s how gases behave in a soda can or how pond ecosystems balance themselves. I’m big on structure, clarity, and visuals that actually help students think critically instead of just memorize steps. My goal is always to help teachers feel confident and students feel capable. http://www.youtube.com/@buffordchemistry3460

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Cell and Molecular) and have the equivalent of a minor in Chemistry. I’m a lifelong learner who loves both professional and self development, and I’m always on the lookout for new ideas, technologies, and topics to be curious about. I recently started tinkering with Arduino and coding to create space exploration themed student STEM challenges.

Additional biographical information

When I’m not creating resources for Bufford Science, I’m usually experimenting or tinkering with something or trying to learn something new. Outside of science, I enjoy making handcrafted artisan soap and spending time with my family and pets. I’m passionate about creating resources that spark curiosity, build confidence, and make science feel accessible, engaging, and just a little bit magical.
