I taught first and second grade and then moved into a position as a technology facilitator. In that position I taught professional development within the school, district, and at conferences. I also helped develop lesson and resources for K-4, and co-taught lessons in K-4 classrooms. In the state of North Carolina Technology Facilitators are required to become certified in Instructional Design. The program that I attended has a reputation across the country for being rigourous. My training focused on designing materials in a format that takes into account how people learn. All of my materials are designed with this training in mind. This means that I not only apply my experience as a teacher when developing resources, but the science behind formatting the materials as well.

This is a guide that I created for a school district. I took each of the Common Core objectives for math, reading, and writing and provided an activitity or resource that integrates technology. For many of the objectives I integrated other subjects as well based on standards in North Carolina.

Teaching style
I have multiple teaching styles depending on the circumstance and the material being taught. I prefer to be a guide helping the learner discover the objective in an Inquiry method. However, I feel that nothing is black and white and sometimes direct instruction is more effective. It is important to me to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of all of my students.
