Byte-Sized Teaching

This is a presentation that explains and defines 5 text structures: compare/contrast, spatial/descriptive, chronological, sequence/process, and problem/solution. There is a slide which defines and describes each process as well as an example slide for each. I have also included 10 slides that help the students practice what they have just learned.

These are pictures and step by step directions to have your class make a RACE foldable to keep in their notebook. The foldable has examples and reminds them what each step of RACE is asking them to do.

5 Vocabulary Tests that coincide with the book, The Outsiders.

This is the vocabulary test I created to go with the following words: 1. Allegiance 2. Remote 3. Prosecute 4. Poverty 5. Chronological 6. Context 7. Diligent 8. Generate 9. Majority 10. Meager 11. Obstacle 12. Negotiate 13. Possess 14. Prejudice 15. Transform This test is an application test where the student reads the sentence and puts the correct vocabulary word in the blank to make the sentence make sense.

This is a vocabulary test that can be used for students. A word bank and a sheet with answers are included.

Ch. 1 vocabulary for the students from Kingdom Keepers. I have attached a paper with each word and its definition, and a paper for the students to fill out on their own.

This is a file that contains a baseline writing assignment along with a way to assign a numerical number to each students writing to remind you and the students how much improvement they've had since the beginning of the year.
