Experience

I am a high school special education teacher with experience teaching Earth Science, Biology, and Algebra 1 in a therapeutic school setting serving students on IEPs. I work with learners who have diverse needs, including ADHD, autism, and specific learning disabilities, and I specialize in breaking down complex content into clear, manageable steps. My experience designing scaffolded lessons, guided notes, hands-on activities, and structured assessments allows me to create resources that are both rigorous and accessible. Every resource I develop is classroom-tested and built with real students in mind, ensuring it is practical, engaging, and supportive of meaningful learning.

Teaching style

I am a high school math and science teacher passionate about creating structured, engaging, and accessible lessons for all learners. My teaching style blends clear routines, scaffolded instruction, and high expectations to ensure students can access rigorous content without feeling overwhelmed. I use a gradual release approach (I do, we do, you do), visual supports, guided notes, and meaningful practice to build confidence and independence. As a special educator, I design resources that support diverse learners—including students with IEPs, ADHD, and learning disabilities—while still promoting critical thinking and real understanding.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my teaching career, my greatest accomplishments have been the growth and confidence I see in my students. While formal recognition is always appreciated, the moments that stand out most are the “aha” breakthroughs—when a student who once doubted their ability solves a system of equations independently or confidently explains a science concept to a peer. I take pride in building strong, trusting relationships with students, especially those who have struggled in traditional classrooms, and helping them recognize that they are capable learners. Watching students move from frustration to independence, advocate for themselves, and take academic risks are the moments that truly define my success as an educator.

My own education history

My background in education has shaped the way I design and deliver instruction today. Through my studies in education and ongoing professional development, I have developed a strong foundation in instructional design, differentiation, and evidence-based practices for diverse learners. My coursework and training emphasized scaffolding complex content, maintaining high expectations, and creating structured, supportive learning environments. This academic preparation, combined with my classroom experience, allows me to create resources that are thoughtfully designed, standards-aligned, and practical for real classrooms.
