Two rhythm worksheets that use Kodaly syllables for quarter note, barred eighth notes, and quarter rest identification (Ta, Ti Ti, and Sh).

This set includes 5 rhythm tracing worksheets for the songs "Lucy Locket", "Acka Backa", "Doggie Doggie", "We are Dancing in the Forest", and "Peas Porridge Hot". These songs include the rhythms "ta", "ti ti", and "sh" or the quarter rest. Primarily, in my own teaching, I use these worksheets as a review or practice prior to an assessment on rhythm identification.

Using a mixture of instrument names and music terminology, this alphabet poster collection is great for your classroom and remote learning space alike. Two separate rhythm activities for the Kodaly song "Lucy Locket". For one worksheet, students write in the rhythms of the lyrics. For the second worksheet, students cut and paste rhythms above the lyrics.

The perfect activity for the end of a unit on instrument families! Students choose from the four different instrument families (string, percussion, woodwind, and brass) and write about which family they would be a part of and why. Upon doing this with my own students, I believe this assignment pushed them to be creative and truly consider the differences between the instrument families!

After having students brain storm song topics as well as make a list of words and possible rhymes for their songs, I had students write the final copy of their lyrics on this sheet!
