Closer to 0, 1/2, or 1?

A cut-and-paste activity that helps develop fraction and decimal number sense using the benchmark values of 0, 1/2, and 1. Students will cut out a series of fraction and decimal cards and paste in one of three columns - closer to 0, closer to 1/2, or closer to 1. A good stepping stone to comparing and ordering positive rational numbers. [TEKS 6.2D ordering a set of rational numbers]

Teaching style

Student ownership and discovery is paramount to successful learning! My goal as an educator is to set a framework for students to make connections with numbers and see the logic in mathematical processes. Establishing a safe place for taking risks, making mistakes, and building confidence is key!!
