Cover 2 math standards at once with 1st or 2nd grade by giving students these word problems that deal with fractions AND coins. It would be helpful to have actual coins for this work, so that students can lay out the problems. Ex: Lay out 5 pennies and 2 dimes. What fraction of these coins are pennies? (5/7)

Students will answer questions in which they must write a fraction using the calendar of the month of May. This is just an idea. You could make your own questions using a different month and writing different questions. Ex: What fraction of the days in May end in a 1? Ex: What fraction of the days in May are a Friday?

Students who are just being introduced to division can work with multiplication to help them determine the answers to the division problems.

This cover goes along with Fact Family House Template. Students can practice working with fact families by using this cute template. The teacher can write 3 different numbers that are in a fact family together in the triangle (the roof of the house). Ex: 2, 4, 6. Then the students fill in the "house." 2 + 4 = 6 4 + 2 = 6 6 - 4 = 2 6 -2 = 4 Print out as many as you want to create a booklet for each student.
