Experience

I have had the privilege of teaching a wide range of students, from preschoolers as young as 3 years old to afterschool programs for up to 3rd grade. However, without a doubt, Kindergarten will always be my favorite grade—it’s a special place in my heart that will remain there for the rest of my life.

My own education history

I studied at a school focused on art, with a strong emphasis on classical music, where the motto was “there is no culture without musical culture.” I’ve always had a deep love and respect for all my teachers, and I truly believe that their influence shaped my life in profound ways. This admiration for my teachers was one of the main reasons I decided to pursue a degree in Education, as I wanted to have the same positive impact on students that they had on me.

Additional biographical information

Hey there! My name is Maye. I’m originally from Venezuela and moved to the United States when I was 17. Since then, I’ve been deeply involved in the teaching field, starting as a volunteer while I began college. It’s been over 10 years now that I’ve been working with children, and teaching has always been my passion. As a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a teacher, inspired by my grandmother and cousins, who were my role models. I currently work at a school that I absolutely love, and I’m focused on creating engaging, minimalist-style activities for young learners. I’m passionate about making learning fun and accessible, and I plan to continue sharing my activities with other teachers to help inspire and engage students in meaningful ways.
