About the store
I practiced as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 24 years in school, pre-school and home health settings. Following this experience, I accepted a lateral entry position as a Resource Teacher where I completed licensure requirements for Special Education General Curriculum. After six years of teaching in a resource classroom, I added on Special Education Adapted Curriculum licensure and began teaching in a self contained classroom. For the past four years, I have taught in an Autistic II classroom, an ID Moderate classroom, and an Extended Content Support I classroom.

Experience

I practiced as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 24 years in school, pre-school and home health settings. Following this experience, I accepted a lateral entry position as a Resource Teacher where I completed licensure requirements for Special Education General Curriculum. After six years of teaching in a resource classroom, I added on Special Education Adapted Curriculum licensure and began teaching in a self contained classroom. For the past four years, I have taught in an Autistic II classroom, an ID Moderate classroom, and an Extended Content Support I classroom.

Teaching style

I have enjoyed using my Smartboard and Promethian Board to make my lessons interactive and accessible for my students with IEPs. Within the past couple of years, I have learned to teach synchronous and asynchronous lessons with google slides and Boom decks.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been recognized as a finalist for Teacher of the Year in two schools that I have taught at in the past ten years.

My own education history

I have a master of science degree in Speech Language Pathology. I have also taken additional lateral entry courses to add teaching licenses (Special Education General Curriculum, Special Education Adapted Curriculum, English as a Second Language) to my existing Speech Language Pathology license.
