This sort includes six narrative examples and six expository examples for students to sort. I use this as an introduction to expository after having written only narrative. It allows students to see the differences in each type of writing.

These guided notes will help your students keep track of the clues to figure out which POV is which. At the bottom of each section there is a small paragraph to give them an example of that POV. The paragraphs are from three different texts we've read in class in order for them to connect this with something they've seen/heard recently. I have my students glue it into their reading journals and fill them in a day at a time.

Quick game to have your class review Point of View. These POV game contains 32 POV slips to have your class practice discerning between 1st/2nd/3rd POV. Game instructions are included, but feel free to modify the way your class plays the game. I used these notes to teach my students what a simple subject and a simple predicate are. I have them tape the notes into their journal so they have them as reference. There are two examples in the notes for them to select the subject and the predicate. It may be helpful for them to use two different colors for the subject and the predicate. The second page is the key.
This Student Information form has an editable field for the teacher's name as well as an image. When I used it, I used a photo of our school mascot. It's easy to change the image!

An Aesop fable in Spanish and with questions regarding word meaning. During our fable unit I created these questions to help them understand how to figure out what meaning is being used within the text. This was used in a bilingual classroom.
This is a short social studies matching quiz. Students must match two events to each of the following four individuals: Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, and Thurgood Marshall. On second page, they must write the name of the person next to their photograph.
Use with a magnet with a number on it to easily tell who is doing which job that week.
