About the store
Steven Craig is a retired Coast Guard Reserve Captain with over 38 years of active and reserve service. He has extensive Coast Guard disaster experience, having been recalled to active duty 13 times for various incidents, including five recalls for Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane, Ike, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He has held various emergency management civilian positions at local, state, federal, county, and state college levels. He holds a Masters degree in Emergency Management and is a lifetime Certified Emergency Manager with the International Association of Emergency Managers. He has taught associated courses and presentations including disaster courses in Pavia, Italy and online with South University. He continues to conduct free presentations on emergency preparedness and Coast Guard related subjects. He has authored five books including Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Checklist, Chronicles of Katrina and the award-winning All Present and Accounted For, the true story of the grounding and near-sinking of the Coast Guard Cutter Jarvis in November of 1972 and the heroic efforts that saved the ship. Present lessons learned from disasters in PowerPoint format; discuss disaster events and what can be learned from each. Discuss and review various events, response organizations, emergency response issues and emergency preparedness. Optional exercises and tests follow most presentations.
