This lesson plan is the first in a series of weekly plans spanning a full year of preschool. It is designed for younger groups, ages 2- early 4's. The themes are based on the ABC's, this one has the children exploring apples for Autumn. Teaching style
I believe in setting up a rich environment and allowing children the freedom to chose the activities that spark their interest. I also live by the creed 'Independence is messy'. It is so important to allow a child to feel capable, to give them time to make mistakes in an accepting environment. Mistakes are how we learn and therefore they are absolutely vital to growth....they must be celebrated! The more a child is allowed, and even encouraged, to make mistakes and messes, the sooner they will become able and confident.
