Hearing and counting the syllables in words is a crucial phonological awareness skill. This game allows students to count syllables in pictures and move their game piece the corresponding number of spots on the board. The packet includes 24 hand-painted picture cards, both in black and white and in color. This game works really well in a center.

When students begin reading and writing, it is important that they recognize the patterns in written words. These puzzles will help students see how two words are related, as they contain the same rime. These can be used to practice rhyming words as well as onset and rime. Just cut along the solid lines to create these 3-piece puzzles!
