Blending, segmenting, and manipulating sounds are essential skills for decoding and encoding. These phoneme graphing mapping mats are a great way to practice these skills for students in all grade levels. They are also easily incorporated into a classroom that implements the science of reading. These mats have six different holiday themes to make practicing more fun! These task cards provide students with a main idea and ask them to identify the supporting details. Students will pick multiple answers on each card. These task cards could also be used in a whole group lesson to teach students about finding text evidence and eliminating answers.

This is an author's purpose cut and paste sort for students to complete. It is aligned with current Virginia standards that include examples that persuade, prove information, and explain the steps of a process.

This resource can be used for classroom jobs. Instead of assigning individual jobs to students, a group of students are assigned to complete specific tasks within their group job. Jobs can be assigned based on tables or by assigning students to groups based on class numbers.
