This is a fun sorting activity or cut and paste activity. Students will use the list of rhymes, alliterations, and repetitions and sort them under the correct category and then glue them down. You can also laminate tem and they can work in partners and sort them. I also included a page for students to create their own alliterations, rhymes, and repetitions. Thanks and enjoy!

This is a third grade common core reading unit using Tops and Bottoms. It reviews many of the common core reading standards for third grade. You can make it into a packet or use it with each individual page. This packet reviews cause and effect, synonyms and antonyms, summarizing, character traits, comparing and contrasting, and using text evidence.
This is a great way to help your students understand the meanings and differences between each type of alternative energy and renewable resources. They will read articles (not included), create posters, and take notes on other group's presentations. Instead of reading articles they can research different types of alternative energy. Included in the pack are project instructions and rubric, notes pages for students to take notes on other students projects, and a question page to complete before t

This is a cut and paste activity that is done in small groups. Students have three parts of a sentence and they work together to deciede which parts of the sentences go together. They have to choose the correct linking verbs as well. This also helps with subject verb agreement. I use this in my third grade classroom, but it could also be used in second or fourth. There are a total of 12 sentences that the students will have to cut and paste. The sentences can be put together in different ways, s
This is a great review for combining sentences and using conjunctions. I uploaded a preview picture of a linking verb activity that is the same thing. This one is just using conjunctions. The kids love the partner work and hands-on activity. When they finish their activity I have them create their own sentences using each conjunction. This activity goes with "fanboys" for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.

This is a great project for students to use with their classroom magazine. It will help them learn text structure and text features in a nonfiction article.
They will have to respond about an article with a positive theme, negative theme, two points of view, look at quotations, find text features, and look for specific facts within different articles.

This activity involves sorting sentences that have subject verb agreement or disagreement. There are also cards that students will use to create their own sentences using correct subject verb agreement.
This activity is great to use for homework. The students keep up the grid, but turn in three assignments each Friday. There are different activities for each month. So it is always different. I also have one for November, December, and January. The rest of the year is coming soon!

This is a fun project for students to create after they have studied alternative energy and renewable and nonrenewable resources. Students create their own house plans for an eco-friendly, energy efficient house. They will answer questions about what types of alternative energy they will use and how it will work in the house. Then, they will list ways they will conserve resources in their house. Last, they will draw and label the house diagram. It is a great project to use after you have done my
