About the store

I started fresh out of college and fell in love with teaching almost immediately. Over the past two decades the face of education has changed quite a bit, but my desire to teach and be the best hasn't!!!! I've had the pleasure of teaching ELA to 7th grade, 8th grade, 9th grade, 10th grade, 12th grade, and a College Composition class for college credits. After 20 years of teaching, I decided to it was time to hit the road and start a new adventure!

During Covid, I noticed that many of my kids were missing large chuncks of instruction due to absence. They were always at my desk and in my face asking about what they missed. It was time consuming and to be honest, a little frustrating at times. To help streamline missing work assignments and create documentation of the student getting missed work, I created this document. It is a missing work contract. It can be used solely by the teacher to fill out and give the student or the student can

Teaching style

I embrace the idea that teaching is about more than just learning English. Teaching is my opportunity to instill things like kindness, compassion, humor, joy, responsibility, hard work and a little bit of grit by showing them what that looks like every day in class. I use a hands-on, student-driven approach to learning... if kids are busy doing, they're busy learning!
