When conferencing wit your students, discuss with them an appropriate reading goal. Type / hand write their goal on their bookmark. Have students decorate their bookmark and draw a picture of them demonstrating that reading strategy on the back. Laminate for a bookmark that reminds them of their reading goal and / or blue tack it to their desk / reading folder for a constant reminder.
