This is a set of vocabulary cards I made for my classroom to help my students who struggle with remembering key words. Most words have a visual to help students recall the information. I can also send the editable version of this product if you would like to make some changes.
I created these posters for my focus wall to describe the basic standards. There are no graphics or colors, just a simple statement of each standard. These are for the currently used Science SOLs for 4th and 5th grade, since Virginia 5th graders are tested on both.
This project allows students to create a musical instrument. Students should design their project to produce different sounds, demonstrating their understanding of pitch and frequency. My students produced some amazing products and truly enjoyed this project.
Looking for a fun way for your students to learn about a famous scientist and practice their research and presentation skills? I designed this project as an end-of-year activity for my 5th graders to research a scientist of their choice and create a Google Slides or PowerPoint presentation that they presented to the class. This product includes a rubric, research template, and simplified bibliography page. My students loved this project and I hope yours do too!
These cards are aligned to Virginia SOL 5.4 (Matter). I use these by having students create three columns labeled solid, liquid, and gas on a sheet of paper and glue them under the correct header. These cards address the characteristics of these phases of matter, not only examples of each.
