This document includes 7 addition and 7 subtraction strategies as well as regrouping when applicable. Each page gives detailed instructions on how to do the strategy in a kid friendly format. These can be used on a SMART board, printed and distributed to parents or posters made from them.

Experience

I have taught Elementary grades for 7 years including 1st, 2nd and 5th grades.

Teaching style

My teaching style is not traditional. I like to encourage my students to think outside the box and test the waters each day. I do not like the typical seatwork activity. I also try to make my students very responsible for their learning.
