I have taught kindergarten through 3rd grade for 21 years in California.
For the past 16 years I've taught 2nd and 3rd grades at an amazing public, multi-age, parent participation K-8 school. I loop with half of my class each year, which helps create a friendly, familial, and trusting atmosphere in our classroom.

Non-Fiction Book Response Page
If you need a simple book response page for 2nd or 3rd graders to use after reading a short non-fiction book, this is a winner! Young readers are asked to preview the photos in the book, read, think, and re-read before writing down four facts they learned. They will have a chance to rate the book, and can then draw something they learned on the back of the paper (with a written sentence too, of course.)

I have taught kindergarten through 3rd grade for 21 years in California.
For the past 16 years I've taught 2nd and 3rd grades at an amazing public, multi-age, parent participation K-8 school. I loop with half of my class each year, which helps create a friendly, familial, and trusting atmosphere in our classroom.
Teaching style
As a multi-age classroom teacher, I help make the curriculum fit the child, rather than the child fit the curriculm. I encourage parents to volunteer in our classroom and be a major part of their child's educational experience. It takes a village.
