This is a blank template for students to create their own word search. This is a great tool to practice vocabulary for any unit in any subject. I have used this for students to create the word search and swap with other students to practice before a quiz or a test.
In Spanish class, the students write the word in the word search in Spanish, and the word in English in the word bank. That way, when their partner solves the puzzle, they have to first translate the word, then find it in the puzz
This is a simple activity where students learn how to say what they are thankful for in Spanish. With the younger students, we discuss Thanksgiving and they draw what they are thankful for in the space below the words "I am thankful for..."(in Spanish). Then, we go around the classroom and each student shares what they are thankful for while practicing their Spanish. Older students label their drawings in Spanish as well, using dictionaries as necessary.
This is a blank Bingo board with a word bank of the colors in Spanish. I print out one board per student.
First, I have students put the colors into the blank boxes on the Bingo board. I have the students use the color to write the word (ex. write the word "amarillo" in yellow) to practice the vocabulary. Then we play bingo as a class! This is a great activity to review the colors with the class, especially before a quiz or test.
This is a grid of Spanish vocabulary words relating to Christmas. In class, I had the students draw pictures in each box depicting the vocabulary word. This can work as a class activity or as a homework activity, and can easily be made into a booklet as a study tool.
Students that are learning to write and learning Spanish will greatly benefit from this activity. There is space to draw the shape, then trace over the shape word in Spanish, then practice writing it independently.
A helpful list of vocabulary relating to family members in Spanish. This can be used as a handout for students to take notes in class or research as a homework assignment. It can also be a great study guide.
This activity provides the months scrambled in Spanish. Students have to unscramble the words in Spanish, and then match the Spanish word with the English month to extend the practice and connect the meanings of the words.
This is an activity in which students unscramble the words of the days of the week in Spanish. Students must then translate the words into English to practice translation as well. This is a great homework tool to reinforce information learned in class, or as an "exit ticket" to see how much information the students retained from the lesson.
This is a simple activity for younger students learning Spanish. They will learn 5 animals in Spanish, practice drawing those animals, and practice writing the names of those animals in Spanish.
This is a grid with Spanish clothing vocabulary in each box. Students will draw an example of that article of clothing in the box (with prompting from the teacher). The teacher can also direct students to write the English word to reinforce vocabulary and meanings.
I use this in the classroom on a daily basis. It is a fun way for the students to get excited about the Spanish language. In the past I have also decreased the size of this and printed it out for each student to glue on the back of a flag that they make. There are many ways to use this pledge!
