This is a way for students to practice marking numbers in order to reach the goal of addition, subtraction and even more! The modified numbers are repetitive as well as in larger print. I use this with my students with ASD. This way of learning addition allowed them to now reach the goal of dividing and multiplying.
Practice/drill worksheets so students know that the + sign means to add, and - means to subtract. Also attached, practice worksheets for what words to look for in a word problem to determine whether you add or subtract. This promotes repetition which makes solving word problems more successful.
