I had a grade 4 ESL class that wasn't interested in reading. I got them excited by allowing them to make their own book mark! They were able to design their bookmark any way they like. Afterwards, they backed it with a coloured piece of construction paper. I laminated each of them and they were VERY excited! The bookmark also has some thinking questions to always remind them to think while they read!

I had students paste this checklist in front of their journals. Always a good reminder!

Grade 5 language- Students choose specific artifacts from their book. Then they take their artifacts and turn it into a monologue presentation. This is a graphic organizer to helps students organize their artifacts. **Note- the format of it is fine, I'm not sure why the thumbnail is showing up like that**
