This packet is based on the story, Suki’sKimono By Chieri Uegaki. In this packet, students are asked to provide answers using evidence from the text. This is great for discussions. Students are required to restate their answers and provide evidence from the text. I often ask students in groups to provide feedback on their peer's response to the question and they are really good and providing constructive feedback. Suki's Kimono is DRA 30 or level N or Lexile 690L.

About the store

Experience

I've had the opportunity to work in private and public schools. I've worked in affluent areas and the highest poverty areas. I love working with students and watching them become empowered, independent, and life long learners. I've worked with children with a variety of special needs.

Teaching style

I teach to the whole child. I look at each student and their individual needs. In the beginning of the year I lay out the foundation of our classroom by modeling and outlining my classroom rules, expectations, and procedures. My students take on the responsibility of their learning and are excited to share their ideas. My goal is to guide them along the way and provide them with tools that will enable them to become reflective critical thinkers and have fun in the process.
