Experience

My passion is helping students who dislike learning succeed. I create engaging resources to encourage students who dislike math. I am recently retired from teaching math (mostly) for grades 2nd to 8th. I taught resource special education grades 4-8 for 6 years and developmental math as an interventionist for 10 years.

Teaching style

During my time teaching students with learning gaps or below grade level, I NEVER could find a curriculum that worked. Materials were either too challenging for my students or did not teach the standards I had to cover. So I started creating activities and adapting other things I located. I prefer to use learning materials that students enjoy. Everything I create for sale here is designed to be engaging so students will want to complete it.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My reward from teaching is running into former students and seeing them as successful adults. I know I am not the only reason they graduated from high school and obtained training to get a well paying job. Knowing I played a part in their story helps me continue doing what I can.

My own education history

Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, University of Texas at Arlington, 1990 Alt Cert Masters Teacher Certification Program, Texas A&M Commerce, 2010

Additional biographical information
