An editable powerpoint presentation that can and handout for parents of first grade students to understanding the common core. It outlines the most important standards for parents to know and gives examples of what students will do throughout the year.

This is a 2-4 day ELA lesson plan for my friendship unit on the story Ira Sleeps Over. This lesson plan has assessments, differentiated plans and 2 short friendship poems. Very easy to implement into any unit on Friendship.

Before a lesson students fill out the form to determine learning target, assess prior knowledge, inquiry learning and student interest. At the end of the lesson the form can be used to evaluate understanding, attainment of learning goal and student interest.

This is a handout I like to give my parents in the beginning of the year. It is a great handout to show parents how to link literacy from school to home!
