A quick reference guide to the 5 main literary lenses with a short actuvity that encourages students to record their thoughts in repsonse to each lens as it related to both a literary and non-literary text. This was designed for an IB Eng Lang and Lit course as a way to help students identify original global issues.
This short lesson sets the stage for a larger unit on based on the text by providing vocabulary and context. Please combine it with the free slide deck titled Intro to Anthony Bourdain slide deck. This is ideal for a class in which multiple international texts requiring context are being taught or and IB Eng Lang and Lit course in which Parts Unknown is being used as a body of work.
