Following directions is such an important skill to have in every class: science, math, English, social studies, etc. Test your students' following direction skills by having them follow step-by-step instructions to make a paper cup. Self-guidance: student must be able to answer yes to the questions before moving on to the next step. I made this specifically for chemistry, but it can be adapted for any class. No Bitmoji is included, but you can add your own to personalize it for your class.

Back to school/first day activity: Going over the syllabus in an interactive and engaging way. Studies have shown that student retain information better when they do (write) versus hearing (listening). After you are done going over the syllabus, have the students summarize the different parts of your syllabus on this visual syllabus.
