Nascar Math - A Multiplication Project
Connect basic multiplication to the exciting world of Nascar racing! Students will randomly choose a Nascar track to research. They will use their research to create word problems based on a multiplication fact they have difficulty with. Students will also write all of their multiplication facts from 1 X 0 - 12 X 12 and draw pictoral representations of some of facts.

Experience
This is my 3rd full year of teaching and my 2nd year in teaching 4th grade. My first year of teaching was in 3rd grade and I spent over 300 hours in various classrooms during my college practicum field experience.
Teaching style
My teaching style is usually hands on and related to real life experiences. I also like to make sure my students understand the "why" behind what we are learning and when they will actually USE the skills later in life.
Awards & shining teacher moments
With Tennessee's new rigorous evaluation standards, I have consistently earned 4's & 5's on my evaluations. Additionally, I have earned a 5 on my Tennessee State Value Added scores.
An overall score of 3 is considered to be a "Rock Solid" teacher.
My own education history
After spening 15 years working in Human Resources for a large corporation, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 2008.
