Sometimes scientists must draw conclusions from observations because they cannot observe directly, such as when a scientist studies the inside of Earth or tectonic plate movement. It is important to accurately make observations so the best conclusion can be drawn.
This lab is designed to teach students to draw conclusions from observations. The students will measure the mass of film canisters filled with pennies to determine how many objects are in each canister. The students must rely on mass
In this lab students will grow radish seeds in different concentrations of simulated acid rain. They will measure both the percent germination and length of their longest seedling. This allows students to determine how acid rain effects germination and growth of plants. This lab is also intended to introduce students to a lab report format and designing their own experiments.
