Additional biographical information
Christopher L. Rhodes, Director of Choral Studies at Heritage HS in Frisco, TX, earned his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree at UCLA with Donald Neuen. He began teaching high school choir in 1997, and has taught in Massachusetts, California, and Texas. A child of an Air Force Officer, he has lived in Europe, Alaska, Alabama, Virginia, and Massachusetts, before moving to Los Angeles for college. Mr. Rhodes served as the Director of Choral Activities at Santa Monica High School from 1998 through 2005, moving to the DFW area in July 2005. Cedar Hill High School was his choral home from 2006-2020. Choirs under his direction have won Best in Class and Grand Champion Awards, as well as consistent Sweepstakes in the Texas UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation. He is an active member of TMEA, TMAA, and ACDA and has cliniced and judged around the state of Texas. He currently lives in Aubrey, TX with his husband, a cat, eight fruit trees, and a garden, and is a prolific quilter in his spare time. Mr. Rhodes has built his reputation upon building collaborative teams, innovative program structure, student engagement, and student accountability. Wherever he goes, he is known for his direct communication style and truth-telling.
