Teaching style

My teaching style walks the line between preparing students for success on high-stakes exams and fostering lifelong understanding of historical concepts. I believe that mastery of tested standards should never come at the expense of curiosity or critical thinking. In my classroom, content knowledge and skills development go hand-in-hand. Students learn how to analyze sources, evaluate cause and effect, and make real-world connections—skills that extend well beyond the test. By blending structured exam preparation with engaging, inquiry-based learning, I aim to help students not only perform well academically but also understand why history matters in shaping the world they live in today.
