This is a fun STEM activity. The object is to build a trap to catch the Gingerbread Man incorporating The Engineering Design Process. Then the students will write a How To about their traps and create a gingerbread man craftivity for their final draft.

This activity will go with any St. Patrick's Day writing. This includes a leprechaun template and writing prompt. The students will write an original story about their magical day with a leprechaun and then create their own leprechaun to display in the class.

Are you looking for a different way for your students to interact with nonfiction? This is a fun way for students to identify some nonfiction text features and practice their graphing skills. The results could be compiled into a class/group graph as well.
This is an acronym for the students to use during standardize testing. This will help them remember to follow the steps for a successful open response question. By reading the question carefully, explaining their answer, adding supporting details and double- checking their work the students will have a better chance of finding success during a very stressful time.
